Bronze Town Look

I went shopping on Thursday (no surprises there) for my friend’s birthday present- she turned 19 yesterday- and I went into Postie Plus to look for some things, and I ended up coming out with the most inexpensive foundation I have ever found… that matched my skin perfectly. The product is Boots No7 Lifting & Firming foundation, and the colour is 01 Opal. It’s fantastic quality for what I paid for it- $10NZD- considering I put it on about 7pm last night, woke up at 9.15 this morning… and it’s about 80% still intact. Compared to my other foundations in the past, that’s brilliant. Of course, my skin is no doubt going to reap the downfall of wearing my makeup to bed in the next few days.

Anyway, for my friend’s birthday we went out for drinks, so naturally, had to do some pretty awesome evening makeup. I had originally meant to try to do a look like Sophie-Anne Leclerq (Evan Rachel Wood) from True Blood, which you can almost see in the photo.  Scarlet lips, heavy mascara, silver eyeliner and natural brown contouring, but I ended up deciding that even with the dramatic red lips, it wasn't quite 'town' enough for going to the bar down the road.

The look I ended up going with is after the jump.  Let me know what you think!

The Look:

What I used:

Eyes: From the Blackbox eyeshadow palette: Brown-black on the crease and extended up toward the brow bone; frosted champagne on the highest point of the brow bone, fading to a more sheer grey towards the inner point of the brow. Bronze on the outside half of the lid, and a peachy shimmer on the inside. ChiChi eyeshadow in silver on the water line- very easy to turn into a liner just by dampening the brush- and Mary Kay liquid eyeliner in black on the lid.

Face: Body Shop Matte It face primer, Unbranded white ‘erasing’ concealer. Boots No7 Lifting & Firming foundation in 01 Opal. Nude by Nature mineral finishing veil.  Colormania bronzer to frame the face/contour.  ChiChi blush in 'She Bangs'.

Lips: To acheive the nude look, I used a very, VERY sheer and light amount of the No7 foundation to minimise redness and put ModelCo Wonderfull Lip plumper in Warm Chestnut over the top.
